Thanks to all the advice I received, I now have a functional #selfhosted #matrix server (federated but closed registration) :)
I wish that search engine results page gave me an option to "ignore all response from this domain".
So many sites to ignore when you're looking for researched articles comparing things (whatever the thing is).
Or in general too tbh…

Question for fellow geminauts: What would you recommend for accessing #gemini on iOS? I don't have an iOS device in the house, so while I've got favorite clients on desktops, terminals and Android, I'm not sure what to suggest for iOS in a "here's how to connect" bit at the end of a post.

Feels like the only missing piece is signal (as I "forced" most of my close friends/family to switch to it years ago, I don't see them moving to something like matrix).
I haven't tried yet, but if that works "somehow", I could switch to it with my android phone switched off as a backup (at least at first).
Navigation isn't great too, but I don't use it that often (I think).
I must say, sxmo 1.6.0 is really awesome and I'd love to move to it as a daily driver :) Maybe someday soon…
I think it's time to flash my pinephone again with the latest sxmo :]

To quote the release notes below:
"Sway will allow Sxmo to support many new use cases. For example, the keyboard touch input is much better on wayland, the android emulator waydroid requires wayland, the megapixels camera app has better performance under wayland due to a gtk4 bug on Xorg, video playback and firefox is smoother."
