Final cover artwork for my self-published book project.
(full-res/wallpaper: )

Did you do the layout for your book cover with Krita or did you use another tool?

@Clifford For the book cover, I'm using Krita mainly to get artwork+main titles as a big picture. My printer uses the PDF/X-1a standard (welcome to 2000) and that format doesn't support image transparency so I can't use Scribus to paste all elements togethers (eg. like having the font art I did as a PNG).

I'll use Scribus in a final pass to import the picture and add a bit more text on the back (vector/postscript datas are ok) and export with the correct compliance for PDF/X-1a.

@davidrevoy looks awesome ! all the best. I would like to see the printing side of things.

@davidrevoy Tres belle couverture. J'anticipe la livre finale! 👍

@davidrevoy that looks amazing. What sort of story is Pepper & Carrot? Do you have a publish date yet?

@tigzikk @davidrevoy Pepper & Carrot is a webcomic and already online, see

This artwork is for a physical printed book version, which I want :-)

Thanks @yojimbo

I went poking around @davidrevoy 's site and found i; I'm on chapter 13 and love it. The character art reminds me of Little Witch Acedemia while the back ground art looks almost Miazaki inspired. The story and characters are great. The art is beautiful. I might have to pick up a dead tree copy to support the great work!

@tigzikk @yojimbo Thank you! 😍

For Miyazaki inspiration (and Terry Pratchett) I totally assume it! For Little Witch Acedemia, Pepper&Carrot appeared roughly at the same time on the web and fan told me about it when I was at episode 6 or 7 and LWA started to get an impressive fanbase with the first animations released from a kickstarter. I also love LWA! But since this time, I had to write Pepper&Carrot in reaction to it (avoid academy/school theme, avoid similar design, etc). Not easy :)

@davidrevoy The spine should have the comment "episode 1 to 30" or something similar written on it. Eventually I hope there will be another book, and they will have to live together :-) It would be nice to be able to tell them apart.

@davidrevoy This looks fabulous. Can't wait to get it :) Thank you so-so-so much!
