Votes for the poll are closed now. What a... hum hum... "lovely?" color. 😆
Thank you for all the participations! Now I'll try to paint a fantasy landscape with this one as my dominant color. I'll toot it here soon.
( If other artists around want to give this challenge a try , we can tag our toots with the hex address: #5b7376 to collect and discover them )
@davidrevoy huh interesting when i put in these percentages in clip studio i got a much much darker color (242D2E). Maybe i have a setting that includes the value as well.
@foervraengd Are you sure Clip Paint Studio color sliders are in percent? That darker sounds like 0 to 255 (8Bit) value. I'll quickly check with Krita, it has both.
@davidrevoy yeah if its set to 0 it is filly dark. It doesnt say percentage but i cant really find another way to type in the values. The cmyk sliders are in percentage tho.
@davidrevoy we should filter by instance or other demographics.. see if there's significant difference 😝
I like the drawing. "Afraid of The Mist" a sequel by Stephen King.
@davidrevoy just off the top of my head that's pretty close to the accent color in Abominable Charles Christopher
Wait, where did I see that shade?
(Advertisement for an insurance company)
@davidrevoy "Landscape"? 🤔 Hum. Looks more like "thunderstorm" to me. 😉
Poor Pepper and Carrot are frightend by the color. 🌈
@davidrevoy the question is also how to interpret the values. Pure intensity? sRGB? Adobe RGB? Some proprietary stuff? Which display device?
@sirjofri It will be on sRGB-elle-V2-srgbtrc.icc displayed on both monitors ( a Philips 275E, and a XPPen 24 artist Pro) calibrated to 160cd/m2, native white point with argyllcms command lines and a colormunki smile x-rite for the detail of the calibrator.
@davidrevoy Excuse my ignorance… But 46+45+36 doen’t equal 100. Have you scaled the results to get a certian brightness in the same ratio as the poll??
@daniel Hey, the votes of the poll allowed multiple choices (eg. Red+Blue); that's why it exceeds 100% I guess.
@firstname.lastname@example.org honestly that color gices dark rocky forest feeling, and/swamp. at least from my PoV
@djotaku The background of my profile? This one? https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/viewer/artworks__2019-10-17_chicory_by-David-Revoy.html
@djotaku Ha, I understand; it's not my wallpaper, just a montage I made, but I still had the file. So, I made this: https://www.peppercarrot.com/extras/temp/2022-05-08_background-surprised.jpg
@davidrevoy I thought it would become a grey. Though, I'm happy that it isn't as an uninteresting colour as I feared it could become. At least it has some... lovelyness 😉
I'm curious what a weighted voting (vote pondéré) would have given on a wheel like this 🤔
@davidrevoy Such a cool idea to crowdsource a color. I'd love to see you continue this method in the future!
@dhfir Yes, I don't know what I had in mind; but quickly after posting I get a lot of feedback who predicted that. I'm learning! 😅
