Interesting to observe that Yahoo requires new email accounts to register a phone number for security purposes... & then says the mobile # will also be used for personalized ad targeting.
Twitter got fined $150M by the @FTC@twitter.com for using 2FA phone # for ads without disclosure

@pixeldetracking At least, they make it clear (clear grey on white background) .... but not GDPR compliant.
