I Ditched the Algorithm for RSS—and You Should Too - Joey's Hoard of Stuff

I waste too much time scrolling through social media. It's bad for my health, so why do I keep doing it?
Because once in a while, I'll find a post so good that it teaches me something I never knew before, and all the scrolling feels worth it. But I've stumbled upon an old piece of free and open source tech, relatively unknown today, which is THE solution of solving the problems with modern media without sacrificing accessible, good content: RSS.

'New research published in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology suggests that handwriting helps children learn to read more effectively than typing. In an experiment with 5-year-old prereaders, those who practiced writing by hand—either by copying or tracing—outperformed children who typed the same material on a keyboard across a variety of tasks.'

March and into this month I branched out a little. I wanted to see what the Reacher books were like. Not sure I'll read more but it was fun.

I picked up Terry Brooks' latest (and his last) entry in the Shannara universe. It was a bit slow and lacked what I loved in the early books.

A non-fiction book on the decade that made me. It's an interesting look at the 90s from now and comparing to my lived experience.
