Julien M.<a class="u-url mention" href="https://mastodon.social/@RichardMonvoisin" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@RichardMonvoisin</a> en effet, impressionné que tu connaisses aussi bien la petite histoire de l'Orphelin ! d'autant plus que je soupçonne qu'il ait disparu des manuels scolaires depuis les années 1980.Mais la mémoire vit encore, lors des commémorations du 11 novembre dernier l'Orphelin était « inauguré » par un politicien national ( <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.autogeree.net/tag/jeanlucmélenchon" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#JeanLucMélenchon</a> ).En outre à la suite de <a href="https://www.francebleu.fr/infos/insolite/creuse-le-monument-aux-morts-de-gentioux-orphelin-de-son-ecolier-8117130" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">tags et jets de peinture</a>, dénonçant notamment le <a href="https://www.lemonde.fr/societe/article/2025/03/04/mort-de-nahel-le-parquet-de-nanterre-requiert-un-proces-pour-meurtre-contre-le-policier-auteur-du-tir_6576320_3224.html" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">meurtre policier de Nahel Merzouk</a> et le génocide palestinien, l'Orphelin a été rénové et mis sous surveillance électronique, aux frais de l'État (27 300 €), un changement de position salué comme historique par rapport à ce monument, même si il est ironique que cela soit à l'occasion de l'effacement de tags dénonçant des violences policières et coloniales…Malheureusement, ce ne sont pas que des représentant·tes de l'État de l'époque qui se sont dressés contre les monuments « pacifiques », mais aussi certains « anciens combattants » ; dans son livre « <a href="https://www.abebooks.fr/9782911920189/M%C3%A9moire-fig%C3%A9e-vivante-monuments-morts-291192018X/plp" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Mémoire Figée Mémoire Vivante - Les monuments aux morts</a> » l'historien <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.autogeree.net/tag/jacquesbouillon" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#JacquesBouillon</a> (1931-2019, professeur à Henri IV et à l'IEP), note p. 29 :<blockquote>Tous les monuments aux morts portent une inscription en hommage aux disparus. La plus fréquente reprend la formule officielle qui saluait la mort d'un soldat : « La commune de X. à ses enfants (ou à ses fils) morts pour la France. » Devant la prolifération d'autres inscriptions, des associations d'anciens combattants exigeait régulièrement dans leurs bulletins qu'elle fût la seule autorisée ; elle est censée en quelque sorte assurer l'unité morale et civique des citoyens en plaçant la France au-dessus de toute autre considération.</blockquote>Et p.19 :<blockquote>Quelques conflits plus graves portent sur le projet de tel édifice, dans sa structure ou, plus encore, sur le choix des emblèmes susceptibles d'y figurer. Ainsi à Équeurdevrille (Manche), au sujet d'un <a href="https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Monument_aux_morts_Equeurdreville_-_Que_Maudite_soit_la_Guerre.JPG" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">groupe constitué d'une femme du peuple portant une fillette dans ses bras et posant la main sur l'épaule d'un garçonnet</a>, avec l'inscription « Que maudite soit la guerre » : ce choix avait été voulu et imposé dès 1922 par le maire <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.autogeree.net/tag/hippolytemars" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HippolyteMars</a>, socialiste et syndicaliste pacifiste, qui souhaitait pour sa commune « une œuvre qui, non seulement ait un caractère artistique, mais aussi soit une protestation contre la guerre » ; de vives polémiques s'ensuivirent dans la presse locale jusqu'au début des années 30.Á Gentioux (Creuse), une inscription identique fut imposée par le maire socialiste <a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.autogeree.net/tag/julescoustaud" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#JulesCoustaud</a>, ancien combattant lui-même, en dépit de l'opposition du préfet et à la fureur des autorités militaires du camp de la Courtine [note de moi : celui où fut réprimé <a href="https://www.journal-ipns.org/les-articles/les-articles/1580-la-courtine-1917-fait-vivre-la-memoire-des-mutins-de-1917" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">un soviet mutin de soldats russes en 1917</a>], qui, dit-on, donnèrent à leurs troupes l'ordre de rompre le pas cadencé et de détourner la tête lorsqu'elles passaient devant le monument.Á Levallois-Perret (Hauts-de-Seine), en 1926, la représentation d'un adolescent brisant une épée suscita la colère d'anciens combattants de droite, d'autant que certains prétendaient aussi voir, sur la statue d'un soldat, le visage d'un mutin fusillé ; le monument fut l'objet de vandalisme, mais le maire et le préfet ne cédèrent pas.</blockquote>Dans les villages aux alentours de l'Orphelin il y a quelques autres monuments moins connus, mais <a href="https://www.journal-ipns.org/les-articles/les-articles/318-l-etrange-faute-d-orthographe-du-monument-aux-morts-de-rempnat" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">également rebelles</a>.<a class="hashtag" href="https://pleroma.autogeree.net/tag/jacquesbouillon" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#JacquesBouillon</a> fut également l'auteur de deux manuels d'histoire en vigueur au début des années 1980, dont le second présente d'ailleurs une photo de l'Orphelin de Gentioux. Parmi eux s’est en effet illustré depuis près de 20 ans Rudy Reichstadt, « l’un des meilleurs connaisseurs français de la sphère complotiste » selon Libération (2016). On ose espérer que l’écho systématique que la grande presse, notamment celle de « gauche », a réservé jusqu’ici aux « révélations » spectaculaires de M.
