As long as you touchtype, the only keys that are based on their physical location are hjkl. h and l are not used that often. Only j and k could be problematic, but in practice I don't.</p><p>I've been using <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/b%C3%A9po" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bépo</span></a> (a dvorak-inspired layout for french) since a bit more than a decade, and I'm currently on a 33 keys custom variation (with the programming symbols layer of <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ergol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ergol</span></a> on altgr), and I have no issue whatsoever. Neither with vim nor Helix.</p>
