@Germo The problem I have is that #eSIM restricts my #FreedomOfChoice re: #Devices.

  • Yes, I do use multiple devices and I want to be able to pick them freely.

Same with #eSIM: I can put that on a #SIM #Card *but I can't swap the soldered-down #Chip!

And yes, I routinely use #eSIMcards because I get the #freedom and #flexibility of choice, because it's noone's business which #device I use Which #plans on!

Plus many plans I want to use and/or help people to setup are #SIMonly and not available as #eSIM (i.e. #netzclub)...

I dare you to try to deploy an #eSIM on a #2Gonly #StupidPhone whereas a regular SIM can just be chugged in!

Shout out to the #Traffic #Light Doctor on #YouTube. This guy's #channel is great! He's a traffic #control #device #contractor near Jackson, Mississippi and his channel is full of videos of him and his crew installing new traffic lights and troubleshooting issues with the traffic lights and intersections.

It's pretty much him and his GoPro and his heavy southern drawl but there's just something almost relaxing watching (and listening) to this guy work.

Anyway, traffic lights are something that all of us have to deal with on a daily basis. This is a great channel to remove some of the "mystery" surrounding them!

Can a #PWA be considered #selfhosted?

I am working on a chat app with a unique difference. It's a #progressivewebapp with no fixed backend.

I am able to do thing like store data, #encrypt/#decrypt #data, access #network, camera etc.

I would like it that when somone goes to the website, the app running in the #browser, can be considered "selfhosted". You would be using your own device to run the #javascript in the browser and #storage provided by the browser is also from your #device.

As a javascript app, it will do all the encryption, data storage, etc on your browser using only the resources the browser will provide. I believe the functionality as a result is substancially independent and selfhosted.

the app is cached for running offline and is essentialy a static bundle that can work by running index.html without a static server.

Further details about how my app works can be seen on the #opensource project here: github.com/positive-intentions

I think there is a reasonable case for this to be considered selfhosted. Unless the definition of selfhosted is strictly "cumbersome to setup". What are your thoughts?

So, after many years of loyal service, my Windows 11 gaming rig lost its "Asus ROG Strix B550-F (Wi-Fi)" motherboard Bluetooth support all of a sudden mid-december, and I waited until I had enough time to dig into this.

Driver update did nothing. BIOS upgrade did nothing. Resetting BIOS settings did nothing. Ubuntu live USB confirmed the issue wasn't Windows-related.

All I had to do was to unplug it.

I'll be cross-linking to similar issues for my fellows. #bluetooth #device #republicofgamers
