KDE Eco<p>Making way for Wayland in KdeEcoTest!</p><p><a href="https://floss.social/tags/KdeEcoTest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KdeEcoTest</span></a> is an automation and testing tool. It is used for creating usage scenario scripts to measure the <a href="https://floss.social/tags/energy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>energy</span></a> consumption of software.</p><p>Season of <a href="https://floss.social/tags/KDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KDE</span></a> contributor Athul Raj K has added <a href="https://floss.social/tags/Wayland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Wayland</span></a> support to the tool. KDE Eco<p>KdeEcoTest makes it easy to create usage scenario scripts. These are necessary for measuring the software's energy consumption &amp; hardware and network usage in the lab.</p><p>Athul Raj Kollareth will work on improving the tool using KWin scripting API and uinput.</p><p>Amartya Chakraborty (<span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@c_amartya" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>c_amartya</span></a></span>) will work on adding support for Windows.</p><p>The KdeEcoTest tool does not need access to source code, so we can compare Free Software to proprietary software doing the same tasks.</p><p><a href="https://floss.social/tags/KdeEcoTest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KdeEcoTest</span></a> <a href="https://floss.social/tags/KDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KDE</span></a> <br> <br>3/4</p>
