narF<p>Le transport en commun gratuit pour tous, ce serait super, mais ça vient quand même avec quelques problèmes. Bonne nouvelle: on peut totalement les anticiper et les résoudre!</p><p>🚇️ </p><p>Je lisais l'article <a href="https://www.rageclimatique.org/article-du-journal/limites-dun-transport-en-commun-gratuit" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Limites d'un transport en commun gratuit</a> dans le journal d'automne 2024 de <a href="https://www.rageclimatique.org" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Rage Climatique</a>. En gros, le problème c'est que le transport gratuit va faire augmenter la valeur du transport collectif, ce qui causerait une augmentation de la valeur des terrains aux alentours des stations. Et ça, ça causerait de l'enbourgeoisement (<em>gentrification</em>) et chasserait les pauvres de leur quartier s'ils ne peuvent plus payer leur hausse de loyer ou l'augmentation de leur compte de taxe municipales de leur terrain.</p><p>Pas cool donc!</p><p>C'est dommage que l'article ne mentionnait pas vraiment les solutions pour se protéger contre ça, tout en permettant quand même de gagner la gratuité du transport collectif. La seule solution proposé c'était de continuer les luttes populaires et de d'inclure ces problèmes là dans nos listes de revendications. S'assurer que les transports collectifs sont gérés par le peuple et non par les riches.</p><p>Un autre point mentionné par l'article est que les villes doivent quand même trouver l'argent pour financer ce transport collectif gratuit. L'argent provient des taxes foncières (ce qui perpétue le besoin aux propriétés privées) ou des taxes sur les voitures. Ça veut dire que les villes doivent continuer à accepter les voitures, sinon ça leur prive des revenus qu'ils ont besoin pour garder le transport gratuit. Aussi, taxer les voitures ou les bâtiments, ça affecte davantage les populations pauvres, et ça c'est pas cool.</p><p>🚌</p><p>Le texte s'arrêtait ici, mais moi je continue la réflexion…</p><p>Comment se sortir de cette impasse? Comment faire en sorte de pouvoir avoir un transport collectif qui ne soit pas payé uniquement par les autos ou les taxes foncières? On a déjà un mécanisme pour ça: c'est les taxes sur le revenus. Les gens avec peu de revenus payent peu ou pas d'impôt. Les riches payent beaucoup. C'est juste pour tout le monde. En combinant l'impôt sur le revenu et la taxe sur les voitures, je pense que ça serait un bon équilibre pour encourager les gens à transitionner vers le transport collectif plutôt que de garder leur auto.</p><p>En prime, ça nous permettrait de réduire les infrastructures requises par les autos, ce qui nous ferait économiser énormément! Ça nous garderait aussi en meilleure santé (moins de polluants, plus de marche) ce qui nous ferait aussi économiser énormément en frais médicaux.</p><p>Bref, on peut totalement se permettre d'offrir le transport en commun gratuit pour tous. Il y a des problèmes qui viennent avec, mais les solutions existent. Et on a l'argent pour se le payer. Faut juste la volonté politique. Ils ont ajouté la possibilité d'emporter un vélo dans les transports comme moyen d'augmenter son utilisation des transports en commun dans la dernière enquête du Collectif Mobilité.
