UPDATE: We have data on >1000 terminated #NSF grants at grant-watch.us. Thanks to all who have been contributing data the past few days.

We've also added a "Reports" section with some analyses. For NSF, we see that the STEM education directorate has been absolutely pummeled.

As some have pointed out, Social, Behavioral and Economic sciences is a small directorate and they have taken an even bigger hit.

Republican Senator Collins said that China is catching up with the U.S. in biomedical research, and that the U.S. should not take its hard-earned position as the “world leader in scientific research” for granted.

Her comments come at the beginning of a hearing on American biomedical research at which no Trump administration officials are testifying.

"Temporary court orders have allowed some scientists to get back to studying transgender health and COVID-19, while other funding has been reinstated without any appeals filed and without any apparent prompting from a judge."

But the haphazard and mysterious nature of the reinstatements gives scientists little clue as to why and how long these grants will stay in place.

If #NSF Snoozes, #TACC’s “#Horizon” #Supercomputer Loses
#NationalScienceFoundation is front and center on proposed cuts in spending by Trump, those cuts, if they should come to pass, will undercut scientific research and computing tools that make it possible.
NSF is conduit for lots of #research and half of the spending in #US for reasonably large capability-class (strong scaling for large workloads) and capacity-class (weaker scaling for many workloads) #supercomputers.
