Been playing Chrono Trigger on stream with a friend for the 30th anniversary (finally I rope somebody into it lol), and we got to that scene in the Ocean Palace with my wife and his cool motive still war crimes and I'm pretty sure my friend is not expecting what happens next SO excited. She seems to like him thank god. I mean your friends aren't required to have your exact taste of course but I would cry.

So I tried his approach and figured out the outlines of a bunch of Chrono Trigger characters. For Takato and Renamon I know I needed a boy and a woman. For comparison I also studied sprites for grown men and various women.

My outlines ended up different from Brandon’s because I noticed that Chrono Trigger generally has 2 different head shapes. A sleek one and a round one. Marle has a tight hairdo, so tracing her revealed the true shape of the game’s heads.

I picked up Chrono Cross a few weeks ago because it was on huge sale. I’ve always wanted to play it since the original Chrono trigger is amazing and I love Nobuteru Yuki’s work in character design. However, what really stands out for me about this game is the impressionist treatment of its backgrounds.
