December ‘93, the week prior to airing, I was riddled with anticipation. Kurt & Nirvana were the center of my 16 yr old being for 2 years.

The exhilaration of that night was quickly extinguished 7 months later.
It was agonizing, & still is.

The most famous funeral ever, with the departed alive & unwell.

Still painful for me, & a lot of others my age who lived thru it in real time.

One of the most unique, odd, fun, interesting bands of all time. Nobody has ever sounded like them. When you hear one of their songs, you know that it can’t possibly be anyone else.

I have a bevy of amazing memories attached to The Johns; wether it’s from the cartoons I heard them in as a kid, to one of the fourteen (!) times I’ve seen them live.
They just make me feel great.
Always, forever & ever.
