.... still not super satisfied with my color concept for the later #oilpainting
I really don't know what is missing here but the flower is still to heavy.
@brandkopf Maybe a stronger keylight on the flower; it would create more contrast and deeper casted shadows. I'm a big fan of transludence, so playing with how light got transformed in saturated red after going threw the petals looks like a good opportunity to inject some vivid accents in the darkest shadows.
All in all, I would just check the basic: contrast of values, contrast of saturation, contrast of shapes, contrast of warm/cold, etc... I hope it will give you a random clue to continue it.
