Das Verfahren. Und das wurde mit dem Chip umgesetzt.
Aber darum geht es nicht.
Immer mehr #Opensource setzt auf Patenten auf.
Damit macht sich Opensource abhängig.
Gibt es erst genügend Geräte bzw Anwendungen, kann der Patentinhaber alles bestimmen was er möchte
Oder sogar ganz zerstören.
Das nennt sich #EEE
Embrace, extend and extinguish > annehmen, erweitern und auslöschen.
#Netscape ist daran sogar gestorben.

Kein Wunder das #EEE heutzutage so einfach ist.
Wird dann in Zukunft nicht nur mit #opensource lustig.
Gut das #Debian bei seinen Wurzeln bleibt.
Depuis chocolatey, il y a winget, et c'est quand même cool. #EEE #Microsoft
En plus ils arrêtent Dev Home pour avoir ou vont merger du code dans Windows 11 directement. #DevHome
Bon, ça reste du Microsoft, cependant il faut dire qu'entre PowerShell (qui est surprenant et debuggable) et les conteneurs et WSL2... :

Das würde auch dem #Opensource schleichenden exit durch #EEE entgegenwirken

Abgesehen davon das ich Wifi, BT und co nicht nutze, verstehe ich gerade warum das #EEE in #Opensource immer mehr und besser funktioniert.
Und um Opensource geht es hier, auch wenn es in den Tröts gerade um #Lora geht.
Und das was Du gerade mit alter 802.11n Hardware anprangerst, ist gerade der Vorteil von #Linux
Es läuft auf alter Hardware so lange bis sie defekt geht.
Deswegen steigen gerade viele #Windows10 Nutzer auf #Linux um.

Ich verstehe die Begeisterung der Nutzer nicht wenn #Microsoft, #Apple, #Google und co sich für #Opensource öffnen.
Ebenso die Nutzung von #Microsoft s #github
Diese Konzerne möchten langfristig #Opensource vernichten.
Es gibt sogar einen Begriff dafür.

Embrace-Extend-Extinguish.
Embrace = they join the Fediverse.
Extend = they introduce stuff that's non-standard and not really compatible with what already exists. Everything else has to adopt that non-standard stuff or risk becoming incompatible. Since they're one of the biggest players or the biggest player, they can get away with it.
Threads has yet to do this. Mastodon has been doing it all the time.
Extinguish = They decide they don't care for interoperability anymore. They become incompatible with everything else. As big as they are, they get away with it. But they basically kill everything else off because all that "everything else" can hardly survive without being connected to that one big player.
Mastodon has more power to do this than Threads because Threads is a late addition to the Fediverse, Threads isn't even really welcome in the Fediverse, only a tiny fraction of Threads even federates, and I guess that to more people than not, Mastodon is the Fediverse.
