#Laravel should include soon a great PR that will help a lot of devs mapping collection items manually.
It's a simple `AsCollection::map(Item::class)` and `AsCollection::map([Item::class, 'fromArray])` cast.
It creates Collections and maps into a class instance, or a callable. No need to make your own anymore.
Confident it will land on Laravel 12.10 anytime this week.

I've pre-ordered a Framework 12 for my wife, because she's irritated with her MacBook Air almost daily. I'll put Linux Mint on it if she goes through with the order, which will make her life easier (and let her play her Steam games). It might even replace the iPad whose battery is starting to die, depending on how good the FW12's battery is while playing video.
The MacBook Air will basically pay for the Framework 12 when we resell it. 
I got to assemble (part of) a #framework laptop in a matter of seconds!

Bon, deuxième fois que je casse l'écran de mon ordi #Framework 13 en moins d'un an. Heureusement que c'est facile à réparer... Je me demande à quel point c'est lié à une mauvaise conception, parce que les deux fois c'était en sortant l'ordi de mon sac, sans choc particulier

I'm really simping over the new #Framework12 Laptop with touch screen & stylus.
Currently I use a X220 with 8 GB RAM and transferring drawings and reference images to me old Microsoft Surface via USB.
The X220 is already failing and tbh I feel like my usual strategy of "waiting til there's a second hand market" won't work with this product.
After a recent update, my laptop now plays the USB connected/disconnected sound every few seconds when the battery is at the charge limit (which I set to 60%), as it switches between charging and not charging. For now, I just turned off event sounds entirely with 'gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.sound event-sounds false', but I'm wondering if there is another way to fix that without losing other event sounds. I have a #Framework 13 with #Fedora 41 and #GNOME 47.

You need to install DeepComputing's #Ubuntu 24.04 image, but its kernel does not support bridge networking, needed by the LXD which #snapcraft uses, so snapping does not work.
A fixed kernel is already available:
Just install all *.deb files and reboot.

The #OpenPrinting #CUPS #Snap is now available for #RISCV in the Snap Store!
To build it it just needed to add #riscv64 as supported architecture in the snapcraft.yaml file.
I has taken 2:30 hours (!) to build on my #DeepComputing / #Framework RISC-V board, and the build servers of the Snap Store need the same time to build it.

I'm grumpy this afternoon, so lets see if I can focus on #ThreeGoodThings and lighten up a bit:
1. I'm in Act 3 in Baldur's Gate 3 (#bg3), and the story continues to surprise.
2. Relatedly, I love my #Framework laptop. I got tired of Windows enshittification and saw the tariff problems coming last November. Glad I acted then rather than hem and haw.
3. One of the kids has an activity in Duluth, MN this weekend; it'll be a quick trip but I've never been there before.
