Second attempt to play with #kubernetes with 6 nodes #k3s running as VMs on my #proxmox. 3 masters with #kubevip and 3 workers with #longhorn (Kubernetes cluster storage)
So far, so good, but I haven't deployed any services yet. Thanks to Proxmox snapshots, which allow for easy reversion after mistakes
On my todo list: Backup on my Synology, Nginx,…
My plan is to test the migration of my services to k3s in this virtual environment. After that, I will gradually move to dedicated nodes

Mein #Proxmox ist jetzt ein i7-7700 Und kein i5-6500T mehr.
1,1GHz pro Kern mehr plus HT.
Das ganze jetzt für 12 Watt im Idle statt 10 Watt.
Für locker 50% mehr Leistung ist das schon okay, zumal der ja zu 95% im Idle läuft :)

#ProxLB is a loadbalancer for #Proxmox clusters that balances guests across your nodes based on cpu, memory or (local) disk size. It also comes with additional features like:
* Affinity / anti-affinity rules
* Maintenance mode
* Node evacuation (based on best resource usage)
* Best node evaluation for CI/CD (e.g. #Ansible or #Terraform)
Je viens d'installer #Wanderer sur mon #Proxmox v8.4.1 . L'application est sympathique même s'il y a pas mal de bugs. Suivant les navigateurs c'est plus ou moins lent. Le pire c'est avec Safari .. et le mieux c'est Firefox.
Et le dénivelé n'est jamais bon, on perd en gros 25%.
Et je parle même pas de la page principale qui est non modifiable.
Le point positif c'est le moteur de recherche qui est simplement parfait.

Some numbers regarding a VM with 4GB RAM and 50BG virtual-disk.
- "Normal" migration (in a 1Gbps network) => 08:01
- Same migration as above, but with an explicit "--migration_network" running at 10 Gbps => 03:00
- Same as above, but with an additional: "--migration_type=insecure" => 01:31
So, in case you're planning a cluster without shared storage, considers what options are better for you!

J'ai commencé ma migration matérielle et logicielle il y a bientôt 2 ans pour un #NAS diy et je ne le regrette pas.
#Proxmox, #TrueNAS, #Nextcloud ... tout cela offre tellement plus de diversités et de possibilités dans des univers moins contraints ! (Moins user friendly ok ... mais le friendly à une forte tendance à rimer avec captivity ces derniers temps ! )
