Hinter #eclipso scheint nur eine Person zu stehen die auch noch andere Sachen macht. Wäre mir zu heikel. Lieber eine Firma die Mail anbietet und sonst nichts. In D würde ich #posteo.de und #mailbox.org empfehlen.

#Mailbox.org oder andere seriöse Anbieter bieten die Möglichkeit, Familien-Konten einzurichten, so dass man Kalender etc. teilen kann (CALDAV).
Oder man richtet sich eine #Nextcloud ein, die man dann auch für andere Dinge wie Fotos etc. nutzt.

You have probably seen this #viral #infographic on #eu #digitalsovereignty by #reddit user u/lukakopajtic. It was viral but not very accurate 
recommending #bluesky and #firefox as "EU alternatives"? How? Anyway, he just updated the infographic, and it's much, much better! Most issues have been corrected. I think there is still a couple of issues I disagree with: 1) recommending #matrix instead of #jabber #xmpp 2) recommending #lineageos instead of #grapheneos (but OK, I can understand this if the focus is on self-sovereignty only), 3) recommending #droidify instead of #accrescent (but, even here, I can understand if the goal is to replace #playstore ), and 4) recommending #thunderbird as a comparison to #gmail (nothing wrong with Thunderbird, but that's an email client, not a Gmail-like suite provider, I would have rather recommended #mailfence or #mailbox ). Kudos for the initiative though, the intentions are good!
Every time I look at #mailbox providers, I get happier about my #Runbox.
I just gave a look at #Migadu, which was heavily recommended in some threads here. In 5 minutes I found 3 things I don't like:
1) No explicit pricing to get more storage space beyond the plan's default.
2) Says servers are "in France" but doesn't say with whom in the #privacy policy.

Da sich aber einer der Manager von Protonmail als Anhänger von #Trump zu erkennen gegeben hat, sehe ich das mittlerweile sehr differenziert.
Ansonsten würde ich sagen #mailbox.org oder #Posteo sind ebenfalls gute Alternativen.
Mein Vorschlag, schau Dir alle drei an und dort wo du dich eher mit dem Angebot identifizieren kannst schlägst Du zu.
Vom Leistungsumfang und den Preis-Leistungs-Verhälnis ist m.E. trotzdem Proton die beste Wahl.
Many of us are migrating from US services to EU based ones, so I would like to give a warning, services like #mailbox and #posteo are great, very good value for money, based in Germany, private and secure, however there is a clause that can make you pause, if you fail to pay and don't do it within 30 days your account will be deleted.
From mailbox T&Cs | Cancellation policy
"Your account with mailbox.org is a prepaid account. If you do not deposit credit, or if the deposited credit runs out, then your account will be deleted after 30 days (Section 6 of our General Terms and Conditions). After another 30 days we delete all the Data that we stored for you (Section 5 of our General Terms and Conditions)."
It may not seem terrible, but if it is your main or only email account you may lose everything if you are unable to top up your account for some reason (like going on vacation to the US and being detained for no reason)
This is probably not an issue for many, but I think that it is something worth mentioning because some may not be aware while signing (although this bubble is likely to read the TOS in full) , services like #tuta and #protonmail at least have a free backup plan.

Ok crew. I need the Fediverse brains trust with this one. I'm using Fastmail as my email provider right now. It's ok, has good features. But I'm just concerned that it's not the most secure provider out there. I have a free tier account with proton, but lately I've been a bit disappointed in their decision making and not sure I want to sign up for a paid account. I know #tuta is often recommended. #mailbox.org also. What about #soverin ?
