Give me 55s of your time, and I'll explain my new app BarCuts to you!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ1Wv5kN1SY
#BarCuts is a #macOS menu bar app that displays #Shortcuts workflows. It allows you to "tag" workflows to an app. When that app is active and in front, BarCuts will show its tagged workflows in a menu. It's pretty nice!

There's truth to that.
https://fortelabs.com/blog/the-death-of-goals/
I've lost count of how many times I've tried to retroactively formulate goals so that they led to the result I have for some other reason (for official reporting purposes). The last time being half an hour ago.
Although Tiago's (and anyone's) formal embrace of irrationality never fails to creep me out. Rational decision-making isn't reduced to SMART goals, nor to the use of thinking mind.

Huge win. Huge. Canadian Court upholds government restricting crypto bullshit use of electricity
"B.C. wins case for power use limits by cryptocurrency miners"
(Its not "mining" its wanking, nothing produced, nothing mined)
"The decision upheld an earlier court ruling against Conifex Timber Ltd., a forestry company located in Prince George .... The company was seeking unrestricted access to B.C. electricity."

Of all the #AI and #LLM releases that have exploded onto the scene as of late, I have got to say that NotebookLM by Google is probably my favourite
It's certainly more niche as a product, but what it focuses on it absolutely excels at (I just hope they don't kill it as it's still in beta)
If I had NotebookLM when I was at university I would have been unstoppable
You hear me? Unstoppable!!!
I have been wearing this coat a lot since I have been regularly carrying my pocket notebook daily
Stay tuned for a #blog post about this project soon!
I love being able to keep my book and pen in this little pocket.. it makes me feel like a detective or something when I whip them out to jot important info down

Part two of my three-part series on academic #productivity! In academia, we often focus on finding immediate answers, but what if we shifted our mindset? Instead of just questioning, real progress comes from open discussions and collaborative thinking.
In this article, I explore how meaningful exchange leads to long-term benefits, stronger ideas, and a more supportive academic environment—far beyond the quick fixes we often seek.

Just published: "Digital Minimalism for Developers: How I Stopped Drowning in Tech Noise"
After 14+ years of coding, I finally figured out (I didn’t really…) how to tame the digital chaos. Browser tab bankruptcy, notification guillotines, and terminal-based serenity.

"But in an update... #OPM removed wording describing responses as “explicitly voluntary.” The new PIA states, “The consequences for failure to provide the requested #information will vary depending on the particular #email at issue.” #DonaldTrump has also said that federal employees who do not respond could lose their #jobs."
During my last 5 years in the IT industry, I have often asked myself what makes a successful IT consultant.
I have definitely learned that success requires more than just technical knowledge. Here I share the 5 most important lessons I've learned:
Support and consulting are not the same thing, but they are often very close
Many people simply want a short, clear answer to their problem.
As a student, I used to think of 5 minutes as “no time”. Today, I think of everything that can be done in 5–10 minutes.
With the "problem-solving-framework" you have a heuristic tool to reduce a lot of cognitive load when solving a request question.
Train the customer instead of doing everything for him changes the customer relationship and builds trust.

Ok I actually remembered to do interstitial journaling today and it wasn't too bad. It was actually kinda relaxing? That it somehow forced my brain to not wander off and stare at cats (and 帅哥*) on xiaohongshu too much.
