#Transport for #London (#TfL) published 2023/24 fare evasion prosecution statistics following a Freedom of Information request. A total of 18,570 fare evaders were convicted, with breakdowns by transport mode. TfL outlined its efforts to reduce fare evasion to below 1.5% by 2030, highlighting its use of 450 revenue inspectors and advanced technology. Fare evasion, a criminal offence, can result in a £1,000 fine and a criminal record. TfL remains focused on addressing the issue due to its impact on reinvestment in the transport network and its connection to broader criminal activity.

#Transport : la piraterie en hausse dans le monde entier

Selon le Bureau maritime international (BMI), les actes de piraterie ont augmenté cette année sur les mers du monde. Il a notamment pointé du doigt les eaux entre Singapour et l'Indonésie.

Cette augmentation représente une hausse de près de 35 % par rapport à la même période en 2024, a indiqué le BMI

De janvier à mars de l’année dernière, 33 incidents ont été signalés, et 27 au premier trimestre 2023.

Network Rail has won the Spotlight Net Zero Pioneer Award for its innovative ‘hedgehog’ sleeper design. Made from 90% recycled materials, the KLP® Hybrid Polymer "Hedgehog" Track Sleeper lasts twice as long as concrete sleepers, reduces carbon emissions, and can be replaced mechanically for quicker installation. The sleepers, which resemble hedgehogs beneath the rails, are expected to roll out in early 2026. They contain 90% less carbon than wooden sleepers and 78% less than concrete ones, potentially reducing carbon emissions by 24.5 million kg annually if used to replace concrete sleepers. This #innovation aligns with Network Rail's goal of reducing carbon emissions in #railway #infrastructure. The design has been praised for its sustainability and potential to transform #rail #transport.

Es muss nicht immer das Lastenrad sein. Manchmal tut es auch der Kinderwagen, wenn der Kaufrausch mit einem durchgeht... (und das Baby hatte Spaß auf Mamas Schultern)

Ich besitze ein KFZ, versuche aber die Nutzung so gut wie möglich zu vermeiden. Alles in der Stadt geht eigentlich ohne.

“As for the framework itself, it includes a lower carbon-intensity target that rises from 4% in 2028 to 30% in 2035, plus an upper target increasing from 17% in 2028 to 43% in 2035.

Any ships that could not reduce their emissions intensity in line with these goals by switching to cleaner fuels would need to pay $100 per tonne of CO2 for exceeding the lower target and $380 per tonne of CO2 for breaching the upper target.”
