Good morning, friends.

28 February 2025
I was reminiscing about the time I struck it lucky. It happened around 60 years ago, if you round off the decade when a friend and I attended a movie matinee in El Cajon, California. After the short subject film but before the main feature, there was a drawing by ticket number, and my number was called. I hit the jackpot and walked away with a six-pack of Royal Crown Cola, about a dozen 45 RPM records—none of which featured songs I'd heard on the radio—and, oh yes, a bag of potato chips. It was a golden moment, largely because of the movie. The movie was ... wait for it ... drum roll ... Goldfinger!
