Good morning, friends. 🌻🌻🌻

28 February 2025

I was reminiscing about the time I struck it lucky. It happened around 60 years ago, if you round off the decade when a friend and I attended a movie matinee in El Cajon, California. After the short subject film but before the main feature, there was a drawing by ticket number, and my number was called. I hit the jackpot and walked away with a six-pack of Royal Crown Cola, about a dozen 45 RPM records—none of which featured songs I'd heard on the radio—and, oh yes, a bag of potato chips. It was a golden moment, largely because of the movie. The movie was ... wait for it ... drum roll ... Goldfinger!

"The difference between life and the movies is that a script has to make sense, and life doesn't." - Joseph L. Mankiewicz

Dems need to prepare for nominees to lie, then use those lies when they FAIL THE REPUBLICAN project, like "taking on" China. Or failing homeowners, like Bondi did during the foreclosure crisis.
Dems, ask @ddayen, author of Chain of Title, to submit questions & prep for their BS response!
BTW, he will be on the @nicolesandler show on Tuesday 1-21-2025 to talk about the upcoming craziness & what we can do.

Since posting up my Goldfinger album cover re-creation earlier this week for Music Monday, I've had them on the brain.

So, for VGM Wednesday, I'm going to post their one song that is so intrinsically tied to video games it instantly makes you think of them.

Here's Goldfinger's "Superman," which many folks first heard in Tony Hawk Pro-Skater songwhip.com/goldfinger/superm

We are going back to back Music Monday posts with me trying to recreate an album cover!

This week, we got back to 1996 and Goldfinger's self-titled album "Goldfinger." It really is a classic punk / ska-punk album. While it doesn't have some of the memorable tracks like "Superman," on their next album, it's a fun album.

I tried to capture the feel of the cover within the confines of ACNH.

Let me know what you think!
