Le cirque glaciaire peinait à s'éveiller, car il faisait frais ce matin-là. C'était un petit matin bleu, avec juste ce qu'il fallait de lumière pour laisser percer les dernières étoiles.

*** Ce petit matin bleu me donne envie de réécouter "Blue skies". Et encore une fois dans la version de Lana Del Rey. J'aurais bien voulu jouer les puristes du jazz et recommander celle d'Elle Fitzgerald ou de Nina Simone, mais je suis pas un puriste du jazz et y'a pas à dire, la voix de Lana Del Rey est vraiment envoutante dans cette chanson. ***

Photo d'un paysage de montagne à l'aube au format portrait. Tout en bas de l'image, un petit lac aux eaux bleues-verdâtres se trouve au creux d'un cirque glaciaire. Les sommets commencent à s'éclairer de l'alpenglow, phénomène lumineux typique de l'heure bleue en montagne, peu avant le lever du soleil. Les deux-tiers supérieurs de l'image sont occupé par un ciel qui passe par tous les dégradés du blanc au bleu. - Portrait of a mountain landscape at dawn. At the very bottom of the image, a small lake with greenish-blue waters lies in the hollow of a glacial cirque. The peaks begin to light up with alpenglow, a typical mountain blue hour phenomenon, shortly before sunrise. The upper two-thirds of the image are taken up by a sky that goes through all the gradations from white to blue.

Just Rest There For a While

Last night I woke at 3:45 and just caught the last of the blood moon eclipse but I wasn't able to take any photos. The moon looked quite pink, unlike the one here.

I took this image during my participation in the #GooglePlus Mentorship Program for Photographers led by Robin Griggs Wood. What a great experience that was! This was my comment about the photograph and the mentorship then:
"Like this moon ...I feel that I have been told "just rest here for a few minutes, and look around you. We are all here to support and help you define yourself."
(Sigh.)

An evening scene looking through some bare gnarled branches that cross the image from left to right in the image. There are two main branches with smaller branchlets going every which way. It is the blue hour and beyond these branches is an evening blue sky with some light clouds tinged with pink. There is a small full moon that seems to be resting on the lowest branch about at the centre of the image. The bottom of the frame has tops of large bare trees in the distance.
